Fallow Time

“Sometimes I think you’ll find that when you go through a time of suffering it’s short-term paralyzing, long-term creative because often you will find yourself in something where ‘unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies it abides alone, but if it dies it bears much fruit.’ There might be a time where you actually can’t write about what’s going on or talk about what’s going on because you don’t know and you need that sort of fallow time and then later you’ll be able to reflect back on it.”
